For sale is a Selmer Super Action 80 Series I low A baritone saxophone!

This horn is an extremely early Selmer S80 Serial #360,xxx!

These Series I baritones are extremely scarce and hard to find with only a few thousand ever produced.

These baritones were the direct successor baritone to the Mark VI.   While these are not Mark VIs,  these baritones share many similarities and are a transitional cross over model between the Mark VI and Series II.   These were the horns that bridged the gap between vintage Selmer and modern Selmer production.  With some 42 years of age these are vintage Selmers!

This saxophone features a massive amount of sprawling hand engraving!  Its hard to fully photograph but the engraving is just gorgeous going down the full length of the bell on multiple sides!

This horn is an amazing playing saxophone!

This horn is a great sax that has JUST come out of the repair shop!

This horns pads are used but still in good condition.  We have just changed a few pads that we felt needed it.

This horn has just had the full repair treatment!

This horn was completely broken down separated into pieces, fully cleaned, degreased, freshly oiled,  fresh adjustment material as needed, pads cleaned, pads floated/adjusted, new neck cork, neck to body fitting, tightening/fitting/swedging of key work, full next level setup on the horn, etc!

Check out picture #24 the horn was just fully cleaned to the bone in our ultra sonic cleaner!  Most shops do not have an ultra sonic that can fit a baritone.  Most bari saxophones smell funny and taste nasty.  THIS sax is a fully clean, fresh tasting, fresh smelling horn!   This is not a cheap process to get done.

This sax is currently playing top to bottom fully setup with no clicks, clanks, metal on metal, extra noise, extra motion, the horns key work is leak free.

Saxophone repair work is not cheap these days.  It can take a long time to get repair work done and not everyone can be trusted with a horn like this.

It cannot be underestimated just how much money baritone repair costs compared to alto or tenor sax.  It takes alot of time and effort man handling this heavy giant monster taking it apart, cleaning it, working on it for hours and hours, etc.  This horn had an serious amount of repair work to bring it back to life and is ready to play today!  The fact that this horn has just had the full repair service treatment for this sale is a massive value add.

Although this is a beautiful horn this sax is being sold as used and has its fair share of various scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, patina, metal wear, lacquer wear, repair marks and other anomalies associated with an old used horn sax.

Although a used horn,  this horn is in pretty great condition compared to how these normally pop up.  These saxophones were made to be used and abused and when they pop up they are almost always totally trashed thrashed condition.  This horn is rather nice with a vibrant bright lacquer and overall great look!

Included is a very nice condition wood shell baritone case.  There is no Selmer branding or logo's on it.

Although this horn is not a small amount of money, for a top level professional Selmer bari fresh out of the shop its priced right in the pocket.

These days Selmer baritones sell for insanely high prices.  A brand new Selmer Series II baritones has a sell price of $16,719 with dealers cost not far below that.  The Series III baritones now sell for $18,429 and are not even readily available, typically with a long wait.  So any way you slice it used or new these are valuable pieces.

This horn is on sale at our Los Angeles, California saxophone showroom store and can sell at any point so if you have been looking for a baritone please buy and pay confidently we will ship ASAP upon payment!
