For sale is a Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor saxophone!
This horn is a prime example SBA serial #45,xxx with its matching 45,xxx neck.
This horn has the split bell keys guards which is interesting as this is one of the last and final SBA's before the switch over to the attached guard.
This horn is being sold as not working, for parts category.
This horn is sitting on old pads and is dirty so please plan on bringing this sax to your repair tech to get an extensive COA clean oil adjust with full setup and pad work, or more realistic and preferable is a full overhaul and pad job!
This horn has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, heavy patina, metal wear of various colors, weld marks, repair marks and other anomalies associated with such an old antique.
The saxophone sat for along time on a saxophone stand. The bell/logo area that is held by the U shaped black rubber part of the sax stand has baked some of that black rubber into the finish. It will be up to you to keep as is or have cleaned removed but its part of the horn as is.
Included is a Selmer case with the Selmer logo and Chesterfield logo both intact. The zipper is zipping, opening and closing but 1 side is broken.
This saxophone has a very nice neck with it that has no patches, pickups, major problems, plugged holes etc. Its a great neck with matching serial.
Overall the horn is an extremely nice piece. These saxophones are barley coming to market these days. The vast majority of these horns show up in total trashed condition missing necks, missing parts etc. All things considered this is a rather nice horn!
If you enjoy the process of bringing these horns back to life this saxophone has a nice body and no doubt is going to be a killer piece.
This horn is on sale at our Los Angeles, California saxophone showroom store and can sell at any point so if you have been looking for an SBA please buy and pay confidently we will ship ASAP upon payment!
