This is a beautiful rare unicorn early production Selmer serial #1653
This horn is a piece of Selmer history and an extremely rare find as a tenor saxophone.
This horn is a near 100 year old antique with its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, tarnish, metal wear, patina, and other anomalies associated with such an old antique. Both sides of the neck have patches!
At one point someone took great trouble to have this horn cleaned and fully overhauled. The saxophone is not far off but will require a setup to really be a fully playing properly. What I can play on it is a free blowing monstrous sound!
