For sale is an absolutely stunning Selmer Mark VI 5 digit tenor saxophone!

This horn is a prime golden era Selmer serial #56,xxx with its matching serial number #56,xxx factory neck!

This horn is a Unicorn Selmer FIRST YEAR production 1954 Mark VI tenor!

This horn features the earliest, first "type 1" engraving pattern only used for an extremely short time before changing to the "type 2" standard engraving pattern used for the rest of the Mark VI run.  There were only approximately 1000 of these engraved tenors that were ever produced!

This horn features its Selmer factory warranty card!  After some 70+ years after production, some how this small delicate piece of paper was able to stay intact with the horn!

This sax is an amazing playing saxophone!

This saxophone has just had a full complete MECHANICAL OVERHAUL & FRESH PAD JOB!

This horn has literally just come out of the saxophone repair shop with extensive work just for this sale.

This saxophone was fully rebuilt from the ground up and given all new pads with high end expensive Music Medic brand pads!

This horn was completely broken down separated into pieces, fully cleaned, degreased, freshly oiled,  fresh corks, fresh felts, fresh adjustment material, new neck cork, neck to body fitting, tightening/sweding/fitting of key work, all new pads, as well a full next level setup on the horn, and all the other fun stuff etc!

Please check out picture #24.  This saxophone was just fully cleaned to the bone in our industrial ultra sonic cleaner!  The sax is a clean, fresh tasting and fresh smelling horn!  This is not a cheap, easy, quick process to get done to your sax.

This sax is currently playing top to bottom fully setup with no clicks, clanks, metal on metal, extra noise, extra motion, the horns key work is leak free.

Saxophone repair work is not cheap these days.  It can take an insanely long time to get repair work done and not everyone can be trusted with a horn like this.  This horn had an serious amount of repair work to bring it back to life and is ready to play today!

The fact that this horn has just had the full repair service treatment for this sale is a massive value add.  Full mechanical overhauls from a pro Selmer tech legitimately cost $1200 to $3800 these days with a huge time length commitment for it to actually be done.  So it cannot be understated just how much of a value it is buying this horn cleaned and fully overhauled with brand new pads how its sitting!

We try our best to not over hype horns play ability but this horn is just a beast of a player.  The playing experience in this horn is incredible.  This horn fires off and performs exactly how your looking hoping for one of these to!

Although quite beautiful this sax is still sold as used and has its still of various patina, metal wear, lacquer wear, scratches, slight dings or fleabites, metal wear of various colors, weld marks, repair marks and other anomalies associated with an old used horn sax.  The ugliest patina can be seen 3inches north of the main Selmer logo in a small patch of patina show in pictures #4 #5 #6.  The horn is an amazing piece, we just want to make sure were stating its a still an old used horn.

This horn features its factory case in great shape!  This saxophone also includes the very scarce Selmer case cover!  These Selmer case covers are incredibly rare to find.  The case cover is ripping in horrible condition, but it kept this case in optimal condition.  The case covers inside features the "Selmer Elkhart" tag.  The cases outside has a bright orange/red glow thats quite beautiful.  The Selmer logos are still fully intact on the inside and outside!  These cases alone are worth a pretty penny.

Included is the horns Selmer grenadilla wood end plug worth a pretty penny!

Included is a vintage Ray Hyman neck strap.

Included is the Selmer factory warranty card.

This saxophone has a great neck with it!  This neck has no problems or issues, there are no pickups, patches, past trauma etc.  Its one thing to find a saxophone like this...     Its another thing to find a saxophone like this that has a perfect neck to accompany it like this!

Overall this saxophone has the perfect look to it.  Selmer collectors and players really seem to gravitate to this very specific look.   When the lacquer fades to that dark chocolate hue with the that light two toned patina engraving looks around the horn.   This horn just has "THE LOOK" that so many people are constantly talking about finding.

There were only approximately 1000 of these 5 digit tenors produced with the early "type 1" engraving pattern making this horn a total needle in a hay stack find!

Out of those 1000 horns the vast majority of them are either in trashed and thrashed condition, relacquered, lost to time, possibly destroyed in building demolition or fires, floods, natural disasters, or missing parts or pieces, pickups on the neck, patches on the neck,  all sorts of weird problems!

It cannot be understated just how many of these were just fully relacquered not along after factory production.  In the end thats creates only an extremely small pool of so many remaining horns in nice condition..

Out of those available first year production high end caliber horns just imagine how many of them actually have there warranty card with the horn?

What were left with is this saxophone being a true one of one piece that you would be hard pressed to find another ever again sitting exactly like this.

Majority of any other similar horns are already locked away in collections only to ever see daylight when that player passes and then ultimately the horn get locked up into a new players life time collection.

Saxophones like this do not come to market very often and this is a very special Mark VI tenor sitting in a great buying position.  This horn is a dream piece with perfect aesthetic look, collectiblility and playability.

This saxophone is on sale at our Los Angeles, California saxophone showroom store and can sell at any point so if you have been looking for an investment grade Selmer tenor please buy and pay confidently we will ship ASAP upon payment!
