This horn is a prime era Selmer serial #197xxx with its factory neck.
This saxophone is a gorgeous closet queen horn in minty condition!
The horn is playing top to bottom and is a monster player.
This horn is sitting on its factory pads that were preserved extremely well and are soft to the touch! Ultimately it will be up to the next buyer if they ever choose to overhaul the horn with fresh pads, but right now the horn is a great playing saxophone on its current pads.
This saxophone features the low A key.
This saxophone has gorgeous sprawling engraving.
Its important to note that most Mark VIs baritones have 0 engraving what so ever, just the main logo. This horns engraving stretches the length of the massive low A bell and is preserved excellently. Its just a beautiful thing to have an engraved Selmer Bari vs non engraved.
Included is a strong wood shell case. Its possible this is the horns case, but theres no Selmer logo on it.
This saxophone is being sold as used and has its fair share of various scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, metal wear, engraving wear, lacquer wear, repair marks, patina and other anomalies associated with such an old vintage instrument.
These days current production modern Selmer Paris Series II & Series III baritones legitimately sell new for $17,000 to $22,000+! So although this Mark VI is not a small amount of money. When you consider the modern Selmer only depreciates value while this Mark VI is already a highly collectible scarce good in minty condition ready to hold its value or appreciate it put the buying value into perspective.
