For sale is a Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone!
This horn is a prime era Selmer serial #141,xxx!
This horn features the very rare Mark VI vertical body stamp!
Please check out pictures #22 - #24. The neck had a pickup removed. This is absolutely best case scenario for a pickup removal. The work was top notch top tier and it is barley noticeable to the eye. When you touch and run your finger over the area its perfectly smooth with no gap or ridge!
This neck is a fantastic piece. These exact serial number pieces were hand selected for the Mark VI varitone pickups. Overall this saxophone plays LOUD and PROUD! We have put the neck on some other Mark VIs to get a feel for it, and regardless of the pickup removed its an absolutely killer playing neck.
This saxophone has been fully overhauled with a top level overhaul featuring premium pads and high end rivetless domed brass resonators!
We have then just now gone through and given the horn a final leak setup to make sure its playing perfect.
This sax has no clicks, clanks, metal on metal. All of the action is clamping down hard and lighting fast with no leaks!
This saxophone is a dream playing piece. The horn gives a fantastic playing experience that's extremely pleasing!
This saxophone is sold as used and has its fair share of strong scratching, knicks, dings, metal wear of various colors, strong patina, weld marks, repair marks and other anomalies associated with an antique.
Please check out pictures #13 - #15. The body tube has a past repair mark running up the body tube. The pickup microphone had a cable inside soft metal tube that ran up the body. That was removed leaving the solder mark shown.
It will be up to you in the future if you want to remove this mark or improve the aesthetic. Check out picture #15. Look at the top of the picture, top of the body tube, by the neck side receiver. Look for that tan splotch. That area had the same silver solder as shown on the rest of the body. We polished that area and it came right off.
Ultimately after holding the horn for a few minutes that repair mark just blends right in and is a non factor. When your playing the horn you cant see it and just forget it exists. Overall because the horns full look and engraving are so striking beautiful and being the horn is patina'd enough that it eclipses the repair mark.
Removing that mark is very possible without to much trouble, but your ever so slightly removing the smallest layer of metal. So in the end final we are leaving that up to the next buyers discretion! Horn is sold exactly how its pictured.
This saxophone comes with vintage Selmer case not in great condition but the outside Selmer logo is fully intact!
In the hands this horn is a gorgeous piece that looks way nicer then the pictures illustrate. The horn has dark lacquer with amazing engraving, a highly desirable serial number and an expensive full overhaul ready to blow the house down.
