For sale is an extremely rare Buffet S1 soprano saxophone!
This horn is a very nice condition, near-mint S1 soprano example. S1 sopranos are extremely rare and scarce. It is estimated there were only 75 to 100 S1 sopranos produced total each year of production. If you pay attention looking out for these, you find out they almost never ever come to market! In the extreme case when these do surface, they are almost always in poor condition, so this horn in this condition is a very nice find.
This horn has just come out of the saxophone repair shop with extensive work being done!
This horn was completely broken down, separated into pieces, cleaned, degreased, freshly oiled, fresh corks/felts adjustment material as needed, old pads cleaned, a few new pads changed, new neck cork, neck-to-body fitting, tightening/fitting of keywork, a full next-level setup on the horn, etc.!
Check out picture #24: the horn was just fully cleaned to the bone in our ultrasonic cleaner! This sax is a clean, fresh-tasting, fresh-smelling horn! This is not a cheap process to get done.
This sax is currently playing top to bottom, fully set up with no clicks, clanks, metal-on-metal, extra noise, or extra motion. The horn's keywork is leak-free!
Saxophone repair work is not cheap these days. It can take a long time to get repair work done and not everyone can be trusted with a horn like this. This horn had a serious amount of repair work to bring it back to life and is ready to play today!
The fact that this horn has just had the full repair service treatment for this sale is a massive value add.
Although quite beautiful, this sax still has its fair share of various patina, metal wear, lacquer wear, scratches, nicks, dings, flea bites, metal wear of various colors, weld marks, repair marks, and other anomalies associated with an old used sax. The horn is an amazing piece, but we just want to make sure we're stating it's still an old used horn.
The horn includes its factory Buffet case with the logos still intact! The case keys are even included!
Included is a Buffet-branded mouthpiece, ligature, and cap! These are a rare find!
Overall, this is a great soprano ready to play out of the box!
