For sale is a breathtaking Buescher True Tone alto saxophone!
This horn is a prime golden era Series III Buescher True Tone serial #202xxx!
This horn is a fully engraved gold plated saxophone.
The engraving is stunning and sprawls up and down the saxophone, all sides of the bell, bow, body tube, both sides of the neck, etc.
The engraving features intricate portraits through out the saxophone.
There is a main engraved portrait of a women.
On the left side, right side, and above the women are 3 beautiful birds.
Below the main Buescher logo on the top of the bow is an oval like framed portrait scene of mountains, water, forest and birds.
Hiding under the low C key & to the right parallel on the bell are 2 gorgeous butterflies.
On the body tube there is an engraved swan.
On the upper body tube is a portrait of a bird framed by a stunning North Star shaped frame.
There are other nooks and crannys to the engraving not photographed.
Overall this is a very hard sax to photo. The gold plating on the sax is so bright shiny reflective that under the bright photo lights its hard to photograph perfectly but in the hands there is a depth to the gold plate and engraving that just looks amazing.
Included with the saxophone was an envelope of paper work. The paper work seems to illustrate a story of a public school band teacher running there band program. The papers make it seem like he was paying for this saxophone in $5 and $10 payments to a music store with receipts for each payment.
The saxophone comes with no Buescher case. The case has no logos. Unless these fully engraved saxophones came with a different case this is a random case.
The horn has the #1 neck.
This horn is sitting on old pads and will need a full overhaul and pad job to be a perfect modern playing saxophone.
Although quite beautiful this horn is being sold as not working and has various scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, patina, metal wear, gold plate wear and other anomalies associated with such an old antique.
This saxophone is an incredible find. We have simply polished the open sections with a cloth and the saxophone has come alive.
If this saxophone is fully dissembled, cleaned and polished the horn is just going to pop and look incredible.
