For sale is a stunning Yamaha YTS 62S Silver Plated Purple Label Era Tenor Saxophone!
This horn is an extremely early prime Purple Label era 4 digit Yamaha serial #1,7xx!
We say Purple Label "era" because there were not actual silver plated horns with purple labels. The purple label was silk screen painted on and did not stick to silver plate, so these horns logos were the first stamped logos.
This horn is both a minty collectors condition piece as well an absolute top tier playing saxophone!
This saxophone has a recent modern overhaul and full pad job!
This horn had the full overhaul and then was not played very much till we ended up with it. It is a used overhaul but has a near full life ahead.
This horn is playing top to bottom and has a massive tone.
These horns have cult following and this horn is the exact example of why they have that reputation.
There were not many silver plated horns ever produced. Even in modern day Yamaha there are not many. Most of them that come to market for sale have extreme use marks, strong patina, problems, missing parts.
To find a 4 digit serial, in minty condition, that's popping silver plated and fully overhauled is just a very rare occurrence and extremely nice buying situation!
Overall this horn is just a gorgeous piece. This saxophone is still being sold as used and has surface scratches, smudges, some patina, use marks etc. But overall for a saxophone this age you just don't find them like this!
