For sale is a Selmer Paris Reference 54 alto saxophone in minty condition!
This horn features gorgeous dark lacquer and extensive hand engraving!
This horn is a killer playing saxophone.
This saxophone has just come out of the shop and had a detail oriented, full on top level clean and setup specifically for this sale.
This horn is a very recent serial #804,xxx. This specifically adds great value to the saxophone..
The Reference 54 originally came out in 2003 and there was close to 20 years of these horns being produced.
These horns were made to be played, used and abused, so the typical found average condition Ref 54s that come to market for sale are generally 10, 15, 20+ years old and have 1000s of hours of play time. These are full on used condition horns with wear, tear, scratches, knicks, pad use etc.
This particular horn for sale is just gorgeous in extremely nice minty condition.
The Ref 54 on this listing is a serial #804,xxx which is a very recently produced unit that was made at the very end of the Ref 54 production run.
To put it into perspective we have received and sold Selmer Supreme 92DL alto saxophones with serial numbers as early as #824xxx.
So this saxophone is at the very end of the run not many years old.
Over the close to 20 years there was a number of changes and tweaks to the neck & body of the Ref 54. The final variant were the best playing Ref 54s produced.
So the combination of this horn having fresh setup + recent serial number + being so clean you can feel confident that if you are going to spend money on a Ref 54 that you are getting the best possible buying situation!
This saxophone includes its Selmer shaped factory flight case! These cases are awesome cases. As a testament to the condition of the horn, take a look at the outside of the case. The case is minty fresh.
This horn features beautiful French floral style hand engraving that pops with the dark lacquer.
These days Selmer Paris is using engraving machines. These are the last greatest hand engraved horns out of Selmer before there head engraver retired and the machines took over.
Although amazing condition this saxophone is being sold as used and does have some very light surface scratching, smudging, light patina, but overall this is as good as it gets without it being a brand new saxophone.
This saxophone includes its Selmer end plug, cloth, swab and case.
These days modern Selmer's have become extremely expensive. The 92DL Supreme alto sells new for $9139! So the value proposition on these Ref 54s is quite nice.
This horn is on sale at our Los Angeles, California saxophone showroom store and can sell at any point so if you have been looking for a Selmer alto please buy and pay confidently we will ship ASAP upon payment!
