This horn is a prime golden era early Selmer serial #14xxx with its matching serial numbered neck!
This horn is an extremely rare vintage Selmer that falls after the New Large Bore model but just before the official kick off of the Selmer Supers. These horns are refereed to as Pre Super's. Its very rare to find a tenor from this exact variant.
Within this variant this horn was US import horn as it has the Lady Selmer Elkhart Indiana stamping.
This saxophone is a fantastic playing saxophone.
The horn is sitting on old pads with metal resonators however we have just given this sax an extensive tech setup.
The horn is playing top to bottom with nice action. There are no clicks, clanks, and overall its a fantastic piece. It will be up to the next owner if they ever decide to change the pads.
The saxophone has a fantastic neck with it! Vast majority of times these horns pop up they are either missing there neck or it has patches, pickups, weird problems. This neck has no major problems. The serial number is etched into the inside of the tenon!
This saxophone is being sold as used and has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, metal wear, patina, other used anomalies associated with such an old saxophone.
This saxophone comes with a vintage case with no branding or logos. The handle is broken.
While quite beautiful this horn is an old relaq relacquer horn.
