This horn is a prime golden era Conn serial #213xxx with rolled tone holes!
This horn features beautiful bright popping gold plating in great condition!
This saxophone features an incredible deluxe portrait engraving!
This is not a run of the mill Conn portrait engraving. The engraving on this horn is highly intricate. There are many detailed engraved Conns, but the vast majority of them do not have the incredibly small detailed engraving of this horn.
The engraving has a large amount of line work within the water, dots making up the tree leaves, etc. Overall theres a ton of what seems like advanced engraving techniques that create shading, shadows and depth to the picture.
The engraving is really quite stunning and pleasing to the eye in person. While theres no way to prove it theres a solid chance this was one of the Stenberg brothers engraved horns. Overall this is a very special saxophone in great condition.
The actual saxophone is sold as not working for parts only category.
The pads on this horn are old. Please plan on a full overhaul and pad job to be any kind of functional saxophone.
This horn is being sold as not working and although beautiful has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, patina, tarnish, metal wear, plate lost, and other anomalies associated with such an old antique.
Please check out picture #22 there is a repair mark, weld mark shown.
Please check out picture #24. There is a small piece of metal missing, the octave key guide. This is a common thing, during the overhaul process repair techs fabricate a little piece of metal into a new one, or you can keep as is.
This horn comes with a vintage case with no logo.
Besides the stated flaws its worth noting this horn is in pretty incredible condition compared to how most of these pop up. This horn is a survivor and a very special piece.
