For sale is a Selmer Super Balanced Action alto saxophone!
This horn is a prime era Selmer SBA serial #47,xxx with its matching #47,xxx neck!
This saxophone has old pads and is sold as not working and will need a full overhaul and pad job to be a functional saxophone.
This saxophone is a beautiful piece however still has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, flea bites, metal wear, engraving wear, red wear patina and other anomalies associated with such an old antique.
There is strong red metal patina in various patches throughout the horn. During the overhaul process this will easily clean right up, but is there now. Depending on lighting and angle it becomes more or less obvious.
Included is the saxophones rare Selmer grenadilla wood end plug worth a pretty penny.
Included is a Selmer Chesterfield case. The Selmer logo is till intact on the outside however overall the case is in terrible condition. Half of the zipper is broken frozen not working.
This saxophone has a nice neck with it! No patches, pickups or major problems, just some patina metal wear.
Overall the horn is an exceptional piece. These saxophones are barley coming to market these days. The vast majority of these horns show up in total trashed condition missing necks, missing parts etc so all things considered this is a rather nice horn!
If you are looking for an SBA to overhaul this would be a great piece. This saxophone features all of the factory metal resonators which would be amazing to pull out and use with the new pads for the fresh overhaul!
This horn is on sale at our Los Angeles, California saxophone showroom store and can sell at any point so if you have been looking for an SBA please buy and pay confidently we will ship ASAP upon payment!
