For sale is a Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor saxophone!
This horn is a prime era Selmer SBA serial #35,xxx with its matching #35,xxx neck!
This saxophone is an absolutely jaw dropping beautiful piece however still has its fair share of scratches, knicks, flea bites, metal wear, engraving wear, red wear patina and other anomalies associated with such an old antique.
This horn is sitting on a mix of old pads and some new changed pads. The newer pads arent pictured. The horn is playing and has a huge sound.
The saxophone comes with a Chesterfield case. There is a Selmer logo still intact on the inside. Overall the case is in terrible condition, but comes the saxophone.
Included is the saxophones extremely rare closed top grenadilla wood end plug.
These specific SBAs accompanying wood end plug on the top of it is fully closed off solid wood. Shortly after this saxophone the top of the cap becomes bored out hollow and resembles the wood Mark VI end plug thats typically seen. This end cap alone is worth hundreds and hundreds!
This saxophone has an extremely nice neck with it! No patches, pickups or major problems, just some patina metal wear.
Overall the horn is an exceptional piece. These saxophones are barley coming to market these days. The vast majority of these horns show up in total trashed condition missing necks, missing parts etc so all things considered this is a rather nice horn!
