For sale is an fantastic Selmer Mark VI Bb baritone saxophone!
This horn is a prime golden era 5 digit Selmer serial #62,xxx with its matching stamped serial #62,xxx neck!
This saxophone is an unlacquered, delacquered saxophone with a very strong patina all throughout the horn.
We do not know the true history of this saxophone. Its very possible this saxophone is a relaq relacquered saxophone.
The fidelity of the engraving looks pretty detailed and nice, but we are aiding on the side of caution and just assuming it was a relaq prior to the past player having it delaq'd.
At one point not that long ago someone put new pads on the saxophone. You can see in the pictures the horns pads are bright popping tan.
The horn is a nice playing piece with no major problems!
This saxophone is being sold as used has its fair share of various scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, metal wear, engraving wear, lacquer wear, repair marks, weld marks, patina and other anomalies associated with such an old vintage instrument.
The bell is sorta out of round misshapen beat up dinged a bit.
There are some light dings on the body tube.
Overall this saxophone has plenty of good solid use marks throughout, but the horn is a great piece!
This saxophone has gorgeous sprawling engraving. Most Selmer baritone Mark VIs don't have any engraving at all so its always a nice thing to have!
Included is a Selmer wood shell case. This case is falling apart and is not good for every day use but is great for shipping!
