For sale is an extremely rare and special Otto Link #6 Early Babbitt Super Tone Master Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece with a Selmer 504 ligature!
This mouthpiece is a killer player, with an awesome tip! This mouthpiece has a HUGE baffle! Take a look in the pictures.
With this mouthpiece think that fuzzy warm fold bodied Link tone + LOUD & PROUD! This mouthpiece has way more power, presence and upper partials than any typical Florida vintage, or modern Otto Link you are going to find.
This mouthpiece is the extremely rare Early Babbitt era with a #6 stamp!! Any Otto Link metal tenor Early Babbitt is hard enough to find as is. Most times you find them they have #5 stamped on them and are a touch to small. This piece with a #6 stamp so highly desirable!
I received this mouthpiece paired with this older Selmer 504 ligature and it fits perfect and plays great so I decided to just keep them together! This is that true 1970s NYC Michael Brecker fusion link guy vibe.
When tenor saxophone was really becoming the modern jazz instrument and the NYC jazz scene was really shaping to its modern self in the 1970s to 1980s you could definitely walk into any jazz club and most likely see a top tier saxophonist performing with the age appropriate Otto Link and Selmer 504 ligature!
This mouthpiece is being sold as used and has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, metal wear, patina, tarnish, bite marks and other anomalies associated with such an old vintage used mouthpiece!
