This saxophone will require an overhaul.
Once again, to be a great playing saxophone please plan on bringing this sax to your repair tech to pay for a full overhaul for this to be a perfect great playing sax!
This saxophone but the horn has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, metal wear of red and green colors, strong patina, repair marks, weld marks and all sorts of weird anomalies.
Im not sure the exact story of this saxophone however the key motion is very slow, and some of the keys are stuck and frozen. The bells lip is bent down with a crease that will need to be taken out. There is strong patina of red and green.
This saxophone with be a project for the new owner so please make sure you understand this horn is not ready to play out of the box.
All of this being said, what this saxophone really has going for it is that its got glorious factory engraving. The "money shot" as I like to call it staring right dead on the horn is absolutely stunning. The engraving looks great in real life.
This saxophone ships with an original rare factory Selmer Mark VI Tray pack case! The zippers are broken and the case is beaten up but its still worth a pretty penny and a nice extra.
I wish I could take on this project but I just have to many horns. Once the new owner fully dissembles the horn, cleans it from the bone up, overhauls it and works out all the mechanical issues this is going to be an amazing playing great horn.
I understand the investment needed so Im pricing this well well well below market value if this was playing shape. A Mark VI tenor of this serial number, American engraved in playing shape is easily $6000 right now.
