For sale is an unbelievably rare historic Selmer Model 26 alto saxophone will extra trill keys, tone hole stack, fancy G# table, etc!
This saxophone received the full Selmer Paris treatment with alllll the bells and whistles!
This model 26 appears to be some kind of prototype to the ultra rare model 28. Perhaps this is a 'transitional' Model 26/28. This is a Model 26 with model 28 features.
This saxophone has a number of things in the design and key work that are out of the ordinary for a typical Selmer saxophone of the time.
This saxophone features modified keywork such as G# trill key, altissimo D# trill key, D/Eb key stack, redesigned G# table cluster, front altissimo F key and any other quirky features you can spy!
This saxophone is nearly 100 years old and has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, dents, repair marks, fleabites and other anomalies associated with such an old used saxophones. This saxophone appears to be re silver plated after the factory at one point. The left thumb rest was replaced with a plastic rest. The right thumb rest appears to be replaced with a more comfortable rest as well. The octave guide may not be original to the horn as well there is no original case.
The horn is in extremely nice playing condition. Someone has clearly spent alot of time and money making sure the horn is perfectly functioning. The horn has no clicks or clanks metal on metal noise and is fully sealing playing top to bottom!
When your talking about pre Balanced Action Selmers 9 times out of 10 they are not playing requiring full mechanical overhauls and pad jobs. This horn is ready to rock and thats a very rare thing to find on a horn of this nature!
If you have been looking for an insanely rare piece of Selmer history to add to your Selmer collection this is a perfect piece.
Please do not hesitate to buy and pay over, I will ship ASAP upon payment!
